Sailing life Jacket - Safety First

Everyone on board needs a sailing life jacket that fits. Adjusting the straps and harness is the responsibility of individuals. Regular crew members often have their own. Write your name on if that's the case! Whether inflatable or foam, they should be worn at all times, but particularly in rough weather. They can save life but only when worn!

Vests should be thoroughly checked annually if not before. If you do not own a rearming kit, then get the manufacturer to check over them. If you have a kit then remember they do have a use by date. After that date they wont perform the task properly!

Clip yourself on when moving around on deck when the weather turns, best to move a little slower than end up in the water. Jack stays are tested to well beyond there strength specifications and are there for that purpose.
