Wire Splicing

Wire splicing is similar to rope splicing but easier.

The join you get from wire is stronger, due to the intertwining of more individual strands. Wear protective gloves!

Do not try representing the original multi stranded design. Of course that is the best finished product, but very difficult without a workshop!

The steps

  • Taking both unwound ends
  • join them together with an overlap at each end
  • Gradually weave the strands in to each other
  • By taking one strand and weaving it in to it's opposing strand this will eventually give you a strong bond
  • The more times each strand is weaved the better for the overall strength of the join
  • It is very important to carry out this repair for temporary fixings only

The original strength will not be same. So get it replaced!

Below you can see a range of guides to wire splicing and Rope too. Mastering this tricky art is important, so purchase your guide today.
