Led Deck Lights - Why Install Them?

<<>>These are not standard illumination. Led deck lights, standing for light emitting diode, are a form of electroluminescence. They are used as area lighting amongst other uses. Offering super bright illumination they are great topside. They can used as railing lights, when properly protected. Coming in a variety of colors, including blue, red or white. If you have solar panels as part of your power source then you can use that to power your bulbs!

For the purposes of sailing they are fitted to be flush with the deck, so being unobtrusive.

<<>> They are not a trip hazard! The casing is made from aluminum and the trim stainless steel. Aluminum is a light weight metal, just what you need. Stainless steel stands up to the marine environment. Salt water, UV and rain are no problem for the finish. Fresh water will bring back the shine, washing away any salt. They are also hardy and the glass is thickened to avoid impact damage.

Having illumination topside means better night vision on board. You can get started with the Philips Aurelle kit. Apart from the requisite navigation lamps, which are standard. These offer a safer nocturnal environment when moving around.
