The position and shape of these extract systems is a consideration. So is their profile. Like all topside components, they need to be out of the way and offer as less likelihood as possible for trip hazard. The shape is usually circular or tear shaped. Maximizing surface area and circulation. Exteriors are highly polished to offer least resistance and looks attractive.
