Aegean Sailing - The Possibilities Are Endless

Aegean sailing is the ideal way to visit the Cyclades range of islands. Santorini, Paros, Nexos and Crete.

<<>>Representing many aspects of the Greek way of life. The islands are volcanic. Which explains their rugged beauty. Steep cliffs, sandy beaches and a wonderful, sunny climate. A little of what you can expect.

One stone you will see a lot of in the islands is marble. Cut from the mountains of Paros, before being shipped to the other islands and beyond. Marble is used in a many forms. giving a regal feel wherever present.

Santorini has been known as Strongilli and Kalisti is a hot spot of night life alongside wonderful food and wine. The island is in fact a submerged volcano. The bay area is geological feature called a Caldera. The volcano erupted thousands of years ago. The space left by the magma underneath the summit left a huge cavern. The remaining structure was unable to support the roof. So it fell in.

Naxos is the largest island in the group. It has the tallest mountain. Mt Zas. The island was ruled by the Venetians for hundreds of years. You can see this in the architecture.

Crete is the ancient cultural center of the Aegean boasting plenty of minoan ruins and so is steeped in history.
